World Carnivore Month continues! When I look back on The 17th and consider what is in store for me in The 18th, I realized that for the six weeks that were before and the six weeks that are ahead, involve my consumption of the following:
- 80+ lbs of pre-cooked beef!
- Over 6 lbs of bacon!
- More than 10 cups of bacon grease!
And yes, I'm losing 2+ lbs a week on this diet. A diet that leaves me wanting for nothing and ENERGIZED to take on my New Year's Resolutions of (2) seven 5Ks, (3) chin-ups and (4) Python development. The other two challenges, the (1) one-year anniversary of carnivore and (5) The Yeard are more of passive goals than something I seek out each day to accomplish.
The question I ask, "With an input that is constant, will I see similar results at the end of The 18th? Furthermore, when might I predict that this weightloss phase will be over?"
If I pull it back to a straight line 2 lbs a week, I'll reach my goal in September. HOWEVER, the weigh-in for The 22nd Expedition is on August 12th, my self-proclaimed, Adventure Day, the holiday that is the anniversary of my parents' elopement, my undergraduate graduation, my own elopement and my graduate school graduation. You know I'm gunning for August 12 to wrap up this weightloss and celebrate a new phase of my life!

While I came short of my lofty expectations of 20 lbs in these last six weeks, I did lose 14 lbs, weighing in at 223, a 6% loss. By both in pounds loss and %, I beat the 14th, 15th, and 16th Expeditions. But, that initial weightloss bump that The 13th had in its favor is too hard to overcome—I knew it would be, so it was an unrealistic for me to think I could seriously challenge it.
Not bad for a satiating diet of bacon and beef! Pass the bacon fat, please.
And while I love my new numbers, that was The 17th—great job by that guy who did that! Now, it has become my target to beat.
Thus begins day 1 of The 18th: Moving in Stereo.
"(Carnivore) Begins"

This morning, I put in the last workout of The 17th: The Carnivore. I'm excited for tomorrow's weigh-in. I really hope to hit 217, making it a 20 lb weightloss for these last six-weeks. Admittedly, it's an ambitious target, as the prior six weeks was only a 7 lb loss, and the prior two before that were 12 and 11.75 lb losses.
HOWEVER, The 17th: The Carnivore has been completely fueled by beef and bacon! I would be shocked if it wasn't at least 15 lbs. But, I just won't know until tomorrow.
And yes, I relish that it is World Carnivore Month.
I feel good. I've got a weird elbow injury going on from my time tearing down the deck that I seem to exasperate. I've pulled elbow strikes from my striking routine and halted my triceps resistance work. I'm beginning to think I might have to pull striking and lifting altogether out—that would suck. It doesn't hurt, but there's something loose that pops when I touch it. There's no restriction of movement or anything, but still I'm wondering what I should pull back from to give it a chance to heal.
That said, I added an additional set to my Maxiclimber today. Now it's 4 sets of 0:03:00. Despite it being at the end of my workout, I felt I could have made it 5.
