In Southtown, It'll Be Downtown To Crosstown To Midtown and Back When Soultown Rolls With the Credits.

You know what is not particularly inspiring? The realization that it is a resistance day with a set of iron from the cold forges of Wintergrasp to be lifted in a gym space that has transformed magically into a winter wonderland.

As much as I like on paper the schema I laid out yesterday, I just don't feel compelled to meet the morning at 3-whatever AM...the thing about these workouts is that they GOTTA be something that I look forward to as the best part of my day. If I see it as a detractor, how long can I maintain the willpower to keep both it and the parameters of my diet?

There are long range things out on the horizon that drive our behavior, but we also work within the day-to-day; one pillar is rock solid, of course, but dailies gotta be reworked!

I'll likely return to my morning cardio regimen. Honestly, at this weight, I'm not ready for the lower leg wear that a running regimen would delve out; a 4-day approach can be shelved for later use.

I've made the full transition back to Google as I've updated all of the impacted websites accordingly...

BLUCK

...perhaps there will come a time when I'll go off-the-grid and live a life not prescribed and molded by Silicon Valley, though as society moves closer to full-on Internet integration, being successful in that disconnected context is doubtful...not that people haven't thrived up to the 1990's, of course. And really, do I want to thrive in this subjugated context? I really don't buy into the social and bias media rollout. Yes, I think I like to be connected, but connected to what?

And the funny thing about people and their tribes—REGARDLESS of ideology, is that they all want you to think their way. And whichever side of Us vs. Them you're rooting for, you're thinking I'm talking about Them.

I've been reminded lately of my news intake—yep, since the American presidential election, I've actually given it a few, light glances, something I thought I swore off for the rest of 2020. But, in my defense, I thought it would be for just a night, I'd know who was elected and that would be it. And yet...but, this is the thing: what does it matter? The powers who slap themselves around for King of the Mountain have nothing to do with me. The more powerful one will win and I'll find out whenever I find out.

The Butterfly From the South Side Flies Higher Now That I'm Alive!

You might have noticed that I took a "break" from this site. OK, so I gave the appearance of a complete site shutdown! Momentarily, I considered a return to WordPress. (Once again) I also made a strong push to leave Google, but as I received reports that Google was labeling my ProtonMail email as dangerous...well...I'm back..."The Matrix Has (Me)," right?

I just wish I found out sooner before running through a factory reset on my phone and thriving in a world without a Google account!

Nevertheless, I'm back...and have a laundry list of websites I gotta go back and update.

Yet the biggest impact of leaving Google for me wasn't in losing my Google One access, Google Sheet use, or YouTube customization; the biggest shift I saw was in my sudden cessation in the gym. I did not work out one time!

That's gonna change...that's GOTTA change!

And it has...today, according to my Nike Run Club app, my hike at the state park today went for 7 km. I haven't hammered out my new routine as of yet, but if fits into the schema:

  • Monday - Weights (Back) & Bagwork
  • Tuesday - Run / Walk / Hike
  • Wednesday - Weights (Chest) & Bagwork
  • Thursday - Run / Walk / Hike
  • Friday - Weights (Shoulders) & Bagwork
  • Saturday - Run / Walk / Hike
  • Sunday - Run / Walk / Hike

"...To stretch out my arms like Wolverine and rail against the tempest of Death."
