The Best is Yet to Come

I shot the briefest summary this morning to make VBLOG #6! (UPDATE: Link retired!) And yes, I said "VBLOG". I dunno, vlog just comes off like a virtual host system log to me. * shrug * I mean, it's already shortened enough from web log, right? I may be alone on this one...just where I want to be!
I did my old diet all of 1 day and realized it sucks. It reminded me of what a monumental effort it was to achieve 86, 90, and 116-day streaks eating it! The final turnoff was my attempt at a soybean chocolate pudding with sunflower seeds. Great texture, but it left the impression on me as to what prop food might taste like on a set.
Plus, I'm really curious as to what it might like to go all-medieval—wait, all carnivore...well, all carnivore with dairy. I am replacing coconut oil for cooking with butter and there will be no coffee—clearly, this is in the short term! I'm staying with gelatin, so artificial sweeteners remain in play (even stevia), but its really a matter of finding what best keeps me powered up.
Yesterday after sundown, I received my bag gloves! I was so stoked to have received them and punched off a good workout this morning with many more to follow!
Things Can Only Get Better

Past Me gifted an appropriate title over to me for today's post. I only put in 50 minutes into my workout this morning. Initially, I had something tweak on my left ankle on the treadmill, so I switched to the elliptical. Eventually, I flipped back and just had no energy and my left big toe felt buggered, so I figured I'd take a mid-workout breakfast. Ten minutes later, my toe was still bothering me so I cut things short.
Normally, I might have swung over to the bag, though my gloves are still in transmit. And as far as lifting goes, I'm both moving away from its application and I just felt tapped. Evening cardio, a late night, a diet shift, and a too early wake-up can wreck a morning workout.
So, we're at the outset of a third 116-day adventure, one that will not only go beyond my personal best weigh-for The Expeditions, but will also bring down to levels I haven't seen since 2005. From there, it is the the gateway to the 1990's.
While this pre-dawn morning groans, it is the start of something really special.
With or Without You

I'm making a dietary shift! I'm setting aside the keto and carnivore applications that have fueled The 13th, 14th, and 15th Expeditions. As The 16th nears with 10 days remaining, I'm going back to the evolving diet that gave me such success in 2018 and 2019.
In this retro return, I am invigorated by everything I did on the diet in the past. It's pumped full of nutrition and I never felt lousy eating it. SURPRISE: eating boxed jello with artificial flavors and sweeteners along with an over-the-top amount of water enhancers will put a body in a tail spin!
After running the numbers, I realized that TODAY around noon, I will have broken my record for a diet streak: 116 days. I did not know that at the outset of this post, but I guess on some subconscious level, I recognize a desire for change at the 116-day mark. Outstanding! I really ought to do a better job of tracking that sort of thing.
As I'm closing in on 2021, I want to be more mindful of what I'm doing, and just wind up suddenly with weightloss, but can detail the steps that took me to get there, and more importantly, avoid the missteps that lead to gain. Again, The Bump.
I'm not a proselyte to one particular system. There are all sorts of truth claims out there; people will pump their fists and rail for their side, but I have no allegiance to a caloric construct. I want to have the optimal diet at the crossroads of fitness and price...and what it looks to stand at that corner would take awhile to unpack! At the end of the day, isn't that what we're all looking for once we cast aside our emotional ascription onto food?
